Stop The Hate :: Street Style

In my Fashion Forecasting class we had an assignment
where we had to wear our best street style outfit and present it to class.
Of course it had to be on a day where it was torrential downpour.

It was definitely a day where this bustle meme was right on the money:

We also needed to share outfit pictures, perfect opportunity to stop by this
"Stop The Hate Someone's Watching You" store front across the street from the FIT campus:

What I Wore: glasses- c/o Faniel, lips- NYX "Alabama", necklace- Hunt & Orchard, top- vintage, fur- from boutique in West New York, pants- Old Navy, boots- vintage, bag- from market in Bangkok, Thailand

I am obsessed with me new spider/skull necklace from Hunt & Orchard
it is definitely a favorite!

Here is my little explanation for this outfit and how/why I put it together for my class:
My Street Style outfit is called “Mixed Patterns with Western Fringe & Fur”. I decided to pattern match in this outfit because I feel most comfortable when layering patterns. I wanted to keep the color palette mostly black, white and grey with a pop of color with my vintage red boots. The grey fur coat tops off the outfit with some texture. The fringe detail of the gingham top makes this look have little bit of a Western vibe that is trending on the most recent runway show. I also tied the front to make the top more flattering and be more spring appropriate.
I like to match my eye makeup to a similar color palette of my outfit so I went with silver and red combination. I also wore a red lip to bring the red color up and tie in the boots. I decided to wear my black Faniel glasses with silver stone details on the sides. I love Faniel glasses, they are so different, intricate and pretty.
The bag I decided to carry today was a purchase from my recent spring break trip the Pat Pong Night Market in Bangkok, Thailand. I love this bag because it looks black in normal light with an almost gasoline shine to it. When this bag is in black light or when you take a picture of it with a flash on, it becomes a light-bright neon masterpiece. This bag is an interesting shape that can fold up and can also become a bucket bag shape. This was one of my main purchases on this trip and I am so happy that I picked up this bag.

Fashion school is awesome.
