"We're only tourists in this life" :: Bangkok, Thailand Adventure Day 2

Day 2 Recap of our trip to Thailand for the Z's Turn 30!
{trip still available on Groupon- it is an amazing deal!}

We woke up in Bangkok and started Day 2 nice & early
to get some amazing breakfast at our hotel, Pullman G

I loved all the fresh fruit and juice at breakfast,
my favorite was the guava juice!

After a pretty quick ride in our tour bus,
this temple was so beautiful!

The detail in the architecture is so amazing!

Had to share this picture because we asked a member in our tour group to take our picture,
after another women took some really blurry ones,
and this girl didn't even bother to get the Golden Buddha in the picture...
😑

Had to take a nice sweaty selfie with the Buddha

The Golden Buddha is right next to one of the arches for the Chinatown area in Bangkok:

Our tour guide Audi from Affordable World was awesome,
so knowledgeable, honest, and helpful

This temple was beautiful!
So many buddha's!

Some were so intricate with mosaics

I loved the architecture at this temple, the detail was incredible

The are pictures for teaching acupuncture and traditional Thai massage:

Our next stop was the building the the Reclining Buddha,
I was amazed at how HUGE this buddha is!

This building is also full of art:

When we visited, they were restoring his feet which were incredibly detailed:

What I Wore: glasses- c/o Mo Eyewear, lips- Hard Candy "Practical", necklace- from trip to Costa Rica, top- Chico's, pants- Old Navy, sandals- Sam & Libby @ Target, bag- Forever 21 via Buffalo Exchange in NYC

These birds were no noisy!
I love their mohawks

& this sleepy little temple kitty:

If you look closely you can see the kitty sleeping in this picture too:

This building has some ashes from the Thai King Rama I

I am totally obsessed with the details at this temple,
every corner is so beautiful!

People add gold flakes to these buddha's:

I love this mix of florals and glass mosaic pattern:

I kept giggling at these signs in the bathrooms:

Back on the party bus!

We went back to the hotel and had a couple drinks at the roof top pool bar,
the view is amazing but the water was too cold

After refreshing at the hotel we took a Tuk Tuk
& attempted to go to the Bobae Bridge Market but it was closed when we got there...

It was a wild ride,
our driver did try to rip us off,
we were aware this happens but you win some you lose some

We explored the area around the now closed Bobae Bridge Market

I love all these shops that sell "Party Shirts"
our tour guide said that everyone wears Hawaiian shirts to celebrate the Thai New Year!
💚

I loved these fried shrimps from a street vender:

When we got back to the hotel,
we took a walk to check out the local night market

On our way we had some jack fruit:

We had some Chang beers & a whole fish for dinner
from a street vender on our favorite street Soi Si Lom 22

This fish was one of the best things we ate in Thailand,
it was SO DELICIOUS!

Time for yet another Thai Tea!

We made our way to the Patpong Night Bazaar
and oh my god was this an experience...

This is a night market with a red light district surrounding it,
it was definitely an experience.
Lots of knock off items, lots of generic souvenirs in the booths in the center.
The outside, it is full of strip clubs with "lady-boys"& people trying to get you to go into their clubs
with menu lists of bizarre items all starting with "Pussy",
the sex trade here is crazy!

These shirts have TV screens on them!
Had to capture this technology to share at Fashion School

More party shirts!

We finally found purple mangosteen from a street vender!

I miss all the fresh fruit {+ that fish!}
