"We're only tourists in this life" :: Bangkok, Thailand Adventure Day 3

Day 3 Recap of our trip to Thailand for the Z's Turn 30!
{trip still available on Groupon- it is an amazing deal!}

Another amazing breakfast at Pullman G to start the day!

Not sure who this beauty queen was in the lobby of the hotel but she was stunning!

Road trip to the Floating Market!

We passed lots of salt fields which was really cool to see

On our way to the market, I realized that my shirt totally matched the Thai money...

Absolutely love these carved stumps, so detailed and beautiful,
wish they would fit in my suitcase...

Time for our boat ride!
These long propellers are a little scary...

This was one of the best parts of the trip,
I mean this house looks like it is out of a painting!

After a very exciting boat ride, we arrived at the Damnoen Saduak Floating Market

You can shop right from the boat!

We got off and went shopping!

I liked the patterns on these straw clutches;

The carved teak wood pieces are incredible!

One day we are going to have to come back here and ship these pieces home!
They are amazing!

Had to have some coconut water straight out of a fresh coconut!

We had some soup by the water and it was delicious!

I loved all the floating food stands!

The mango sticky rice was to.die.for.

The next stop on our tour was the Gems Gallery International Manufacturer,
this was part of our tour but I really liked that our tour guide Audi made it clear that we were just here to see the industry and exports and not pressured to buy anything.
 I have heard from other tours that they felt pressured in this situation
and I appreciated that Audi was honest and upfront with everything on our tours.

We were group 30 and I had to giggle because this is Charlie's 30th birthday trip!

We got a soda at the door and watched an informational video,
I must say, the designs they showcase were so gaudy and hideous...

Then we walked though the factory where the gemstones are processed:

& into a huge showroom

Everything was so shinny and beautiful of course I wandered around wishing I was a millionaire,
meanwhile I find Charlie in the center of the showroom pointing and saying,
"DID YOU SEE THESE SHARKS?!"
Different priorities...

After our tours we went back to our beloved street Soi Si Lim 22 for some food:

I loved all these dusters and straw brooms,
+ the pink taxis around the city

What I Wore: glasses- c/o Mo Eyewear, necklace- Hunt & Orchard, tank- vintage, shorts- k/lab @ Kohls, sandals- Sam & Libby @ Target, bag- Forever 21 via Buffalo Exchange

I love all the flowers on alters, they smell wonderful

I also loved this paint spatter almost cow print blouse from Marks & Spencer
{probably should have purchased it...}

After browsing, we ate yet more street food...

+ perhaps the cutest Thai Tea cup:

We also checked out a "Craft Beer Bar

We spent over 800 Baht on a flight of beer and a pint... $28 for a couple of beers?!
That is crazy.
Beer was decent at best. Not worth that money at all.

At the hotel I got to swoon over my scores from the floating market:
Hawaiian top: they wanted 470 Baht - Paid 200 Baht {about $6 USD}
Shoes: they wanted 500 Baht - Paid 270 Baht {about $9 USD}
Backpack: they wanted 500 Baht - Paid 200 Baht {about $6 USD}

Happy to do a little shopping in this crazy city,
love my scores!
