1st day of school options! Inspired by Chictopia! & CHALLENGE ACCEPTED!

Okay, time to take a Back to School #selfie
or in my case #cell-fie

I find first day of school outfits terrifying,
in a new school I am ever more anxious!

The Chictopia YouTube Channel offered lots of inspiration to ease my stress!

Here are a few of my outfit ideas for this crucial moment!
{Friday will be a "What's in my Teaching Bag!"}

My first option is what I like to call "Transitional Tropical":

What I Wore: glasses- BonLook, lips- Maybelline Color Whisper in "Rose of Attraction", top & shoes- The Webster for Target, pants- Target

My second option is a little more girly and what I think of as a "Traditional Teacher":

What I Wore: glasses- Rivet & Sway, lips- Revlon Just Bitten in "Sweetheart", top- Gap, cardigan- vintage via GetNoticed on Etsy, skirt- vintage, flats- Forever 21

Option 3 is a textured look that is both plain yet unexpected, I call it "Textured Teacher":

What I Wore: top & necklace- Anthropologie, pants- Talbots, flats- Chiara Ferragni

Also since September is such a transitional month to begin with {especially in a new school/new job}
I am taking part in a Style Challenge with Taylor a Daly on instagram!
A new pattern every day!

I will be posting a link up form daily at the end of my outfit posts
 if you want to join in on the challenge!
Let's do this!

Gettin' the job! {interview wear!}

I wanted to do something a little different on the blog today,
I wanted to share my interview outfit that helped score my new teaching job!

All this week I will be sharing some "Back to School" fun!
Stay tuned for first day outfit options, updates to the shop (& sale!), a little token from my college experience, and a "What's in my teaching bag", a HUGE style challenge, & more!

The hubby & I have both recently gotten new jobs that are super local
and exactly where we want to be!
Celebrations are in order!

I wore a two piece brown vintage suit and brown heels to my first interview,
this was the outfit that I wore to my second round interview:

What I Wore: glasses- BonLook, blouse- Equipment {via Marshalls}, blazer- thrifted Ralph Lauren, skirt- thrifted, heels- Nine West {hand me down from my Aunt}, bag- vintage Dooney & Bourke

Makeup Routine: face: toner- Lush "Breath of Fresh Air", moisturizer- Jergens Ultra Healing, Primer- dr. brandt "Pores no more" via ipsy, foundation- Cover Girl Clean Oil Control "Buff Beige" applied with a wet Beauty Blender via Birchbox, powder- Cover Girl Smoothers Pressed Powder "Translucent Medium", concealer - Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer in "Light", Bronzer/Blush/Highlight- all from Tarte "Rainforest After Dark". Eyes: primer- Urban Decay Primer Portion, shadows: all three from the Lorac Pocket Pro, Wet & Wild single shadow "Creme Brûlée", brows- Anastasia Beverly Hills in "Dark Brown" sample from Sephora, liner- elite Paris Matt Liner in "Matt Brown", mascara- Urban Decay "Perversion" via ipsy, inner bottom lash liner- Rimmel Scandal Eyes "Bulletproof Beige". lips: Rimmel Moisture Renew "644 Let's Get Naked". Finishing spray: Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray.

I love purple eye shadow as much as the next girl but keep it neutral for an interview:

This Lorac Pocket Pro has three colors that are perfect for neutral makeup looks!

Traded my little vintage Dooney & Bourke for my big brief case Dooney, perfect for folders with cover letters, resumes, and other important documents. I like to hand them out during an interview it shows you are organized and prepared.

I kept my nails nude with NYC's Fashion Jungle for my interview

I used these Thank You cards after my first interview
{Nerdy heart via Adorned Heart on Etsy, books via Target},
I think they are the perfect mix of nerdy, cute & professional!

Overall the interview went well,
I guess obviously since I did get the job =)
Pretty standard teaching related questions!

What is your best or worst interview experience?
Any tough questions?

Wow- 1 year being a Mrs.

I can't believe it was already been a year since we walked down the aisle & said our vows!

See our wedding pictures here!
see our "how we met story" here!

Its been 1 year of marriage,
but 7 years of adventures all over the world!
Happy Anniversary Charlie =)

We spent the beginning of our anniversary at the Marriott at Forrestal
a pretty cabin like hotel in the woods,
reminded me of our honeymoon in Alaska!

Our room was nice,
brought some of our favorite champaign RSVP from Trader Joe's,
had a giggle over the name left on our room card
"Oh Na Na, what's my name"- Rihanna {get it?!}

But then there as an alarm & an announcement stating
"There is an emergency please evacuate the building"
turns out to apparently be a false alarm...

Never a dull moment,

Today brings a picnic in Princeton & exploring the Princeton Art Museum,

continuing 7 years of adventures!
