Meat Pies @ Sweeny Todd in NYC || 29th Birthday Recap

Last Saturday I turned 29 & it did feel a lot like this Sarah Andersen Comics:

It is a step closer to 30,
but was a weekend full of adventures so I really don't mind!

 from Hunt & Orchard
& the neighbors tee from ChipperThings designed by Becky Simpson
{who also made my incredible custom header
Both were on my 2017 Birthday Wishlist
& I am so excited!

I got myself a new phone case from the Poshmark seller uhalexisx,
best $3 I ever spent.
Barry agrees.
This phone case is making me so happy overtime I see it:

We headed to NYC for a day of adventures!

We went downtown to Chinatown and explored some of Little Italy,
a part of the city I have never really explored before!

There was so much to look at!

We walked up to Greenwich Village, exploring along the way!
I loved this wall by Sonni:

What I Wore: glasses- Faniel via 10/10 Optics, lips- MAC "Stone", necklace- Mastermind Eye Necklace from Hunt & Orchard, dress- Wear Material, belt- thrifted vintage, stockings- Old Navy, booties- Cat & Jack @ Target, jacket- B&B Department Store {from my 27th Birthday Trip to LBI}, bag- vintage Dooney & Bourke

I was so excited to find a #LOVEWALL created by jgoldcrown

As I am sure everyone is well aware,
yesterday was the 16 year anniversary of 9/11
(Side Note: I hate the word anniversary for things like this...)

I love New York, always have and always will.
I was in 8th grade and still remember feeling confused, upset and scared.
All those feeling come back this time of year,
even more so since we went to the World Trade Center 9/11 Memorial last year.
{Click HERE for the recap of that trip}

I am proud that I now get to come to NYC every week and study Fashion Business at FIT

I loved this post that FarylRobin posted on Instagram:

🌆💗🌆

We stopped at Taqueria Mez-A for some 2:1 margaritas!
They were perfect.

It was time to see Sweeney Todd

I first heard about this show from the podcast, The Sporkful
in the episode called: Meat Pies On Broadway
They talked about the intimate, immersive experience of this show
and I knew I had to go and experience it for myself.

I was so excited!

You know we had to go for the meat pies before the show.
They were delicious too!
+ came with a drink!
Kept getting better & better and the show hadn't even started yet!

The show was in a theater that had been completely converted into a meat pie shop:

I was surprised by how small the theater was!

The show was amazing,
I am so happy that we got to see it!

& for the record, the meat pies definitely adds to the show!

We headed back uptown to Penn Station but stopped for a drink at the bar "Tracks"

We went home and were exhausted.
The next morning it was clear that Arnold was not happy about getting up.
As if he partied all night in NYC...

Certainly a happy birthday
😊
