one last ice cream, before summer leaves us

Not that I don't eat ice cream in the winter...
it is always a favorite!

When I saw this NJ.com article about the best ice cream places in each county
I realized that my beloved Hoffman's did not win for my childhood county of Monmouth,
I knew I was going to have to check out Cookman Creamery to see what all the hype was about!

My sweet dreams came true!
We tried a lot of their interesting, experimental flavors like Honey Ale, Sweet Potato Marshmallow
Vegan flavors like Cookie Butter, and a ginger flavor.

Perhaps the weirdest (and ended up being my favorite)
was the vegan flavor Soy Sauce Seaweed Carmel!

We checked out the gARTen full of recycled/found art
that is in the ally next door to Cookman Creamery.
Such a weird little place in Asbury Park...

My mom and I explored the gARTen while enjoying our ice cream,
the seaweed really starts to poke out:

Perfect place for some outfit pics!
Especially in this patterned + neon outfit:

What I Wore: glasses- c/o Firmoo, lips- Neutrogena Hydro Boost Hydrating Lip Shine "Soft Blush", necklace- Hunt & Orchard, top & espadrilles- Lilly Pulitzer x Target, shorts- Cotton On, bag- Kate Spade {gift from mom}

I spotted the new Catsbury Park cat cafe across the street and wanted to check it out!
We peaked through the windows and saw three adorable kitties,
this black and white long haired one {apparently named Thurston}
walked the whole length of the window
and took his place at the top of the "Greetings from Catsbury Park" building,
{hard to see with the glare, but he was SO COOL!}
& you can adopt the kitties from the cafe!

Entering this place may be dangerous...
Enter at your own risk!

My Pop suggested we check out the new Asbury Park Distilling Co.
We have been waiting for this place to open!

They were actively distilling so we weren't allowed in,
but we could watch from the window

& of course we had a round of cocktails!
I had: "Party in the Back"- Asbury Gin, NJ Peaches, Mint, Chamomile Tonic Syrup
Mom had: "See Ya Sunday"- Asbury Gin, Cherry Tomato, Arugula,
Balsamic, Lemon, Simple, Black Pepper
{I think this was my favorite and I was not expecting to like this one at all,
but my dad said it "tastes like a salad"}
Pop had: "Tambussi Family Tonic"- Asbury Gin, Lemon, Orange, Coriander Tonic Syrup, Thyme
Charlie had: "Gin Old Fashioned"- Asbury Gin, Cardamon Syrup, AP Aromatic Bitters, Orange

"The Bartender's Breakfast" with Asbury Vodka, Cold Brew, Orange Poblano Syrup
looked really good, I think we will have to try this one the next time!

This is my "Party in the Back":

Asbury Park has come a VERY long way since I was in high school in this area,
maybe a little too far?

As Charlie said outside the gARTen
"We have just about reached the point of saturation with this hipsterness"

The result of a lot of gentrification...
