So happy I got a picture of these bad ass birds on the side of our Black Elephant Hostel
before cars parked in these spots
We started our day off right at Coffee By Design,
a really quick walk down the block from our hostel:
I had a great coffee some caramel latte drink that was perfect.
We walked down to the port and I was amazed at how big the cruse ships were
We checked out Harbor Fish Market
I had some lobster benedict that was delicious and exactly what I was craving for breakfast:
Charlie had a lobster breakfast sandwich,
I laughed out loud at this picture hours later when I realized that as soon as
the server put down his plate he apparently ate his melon slice immediately:
We explored downtown Portland after breakfast
My dad sent me on a mission to get him a lobster print shirt but we could not find ONE,
only onesies for babies:
After unsuccessful shopping we headed to the Spring Point Ledge Lighthouse
Of course the fog rolled in right before we got there,
we could barely see if there was a lighthouse out there...
What I Wore: glasses- Bonlook & sunglasses- c/o Lafont, lips- Trestique "English Rose" via Ipsy, necklace- gift from mom & Nonna, top- JCrew {thrifted}, pants- Loft, booties- Lucky {second hand}, backpack- vintage Coach {thrifted}
Charlie was so cute & said,
"Why don't you go over there and I can take a cute picture of you in the window"
Cute idea- but VERY CREEPY RESULTS:
After the lighthouse stroll we got some coffee at 158 Picket Street Cafe,
the bagels look amazing here but we weren't hungry
I love the art work in this place,
which I had an extra $20 cash to take home one of the drawings but I never carry cash
I love the stickers here too!
I had the Brett IPA & Strictivus,
both were SO GOOD, a little tarte, a little hoppy, loved both
I love the bathroom here, the stalls are all doors!
After Allagash,
we took a trip around the corner to Geary's "New England's First Craft Brewery"
I had the Riverside IPA and the Unnamed DIPA
both were okay, they had some live music outside which was fun
Loved that their mailbox was a little keg!
So cute
On our way back downtown we went to Shipyard
I had a flight with:
5- Hoppy Pride Hazy IPA | 8- Island Time IPA
10- Seadog Brewing Co. Sunfish Peach/Grapefruit Wheat Ale | 13- Melon Watermelon Wheat Ale
The first two were okay (at best) the last two were so artificial tasting
that I couldn't even drink them, do not recommend.
After Shipyard we went to visit Cap'n Bill in his street boat lobster rolls
Not going to lie, this one was SO good,
So good that I may-or-may-not have shed tears of joy...
After that amazing lobster roll we stopped by Gilbert's Chowder House
This chowder was SO GOOD.
One of the best I've ever had.
After a much needed nap we had to stop by Eventide to get one of their lobster rolls
because I have seen them advertised/hyped everywhere.
They were really good but LOTS of butter...
{Also had a great cocktail: ET Cooler}
Charlie had a Korean chicken bun which looked tasty too
Day 2 of my 30th birthday trip to Portland, Maine!
So happy I got a picture of these bad ass birds on the side of our Black Elephant Hostel

a really quick walk down the block from our hostel:
I had a great coffee some caramel latte drink that was perfect.
We walked down to the port and I was amazed at how big the cruse ships were
We checked out Harbor Fish Market
All our wondering made us really hungry so we went a pier over and went to Porthole Restaurant
We sat on the pier for breakfast next to this boat that is definitely my sister Silvia in boat form:

After our coffee Charlie asked what I wanted to do next
and I was like, "It is time to go to Allagash."
So we headed back to Industrial Way and got to go to Allagash
I had the Brett IPA & Strictivus,
both were SO GOOD, a little tarte, a little hoppy, loved both
