Wedding Wednesday: you're such a fungi!

We started Day 6 of the honeymoon in Alaska with a little hike around the hotel,
I was wearing a dress.
The most fashionable hiker Alaska has seen...

To be able to take the walk, a new rain coat had to be purchased since I lost mine =(
Hubby picked out this green one, I of course got hot pink.

A day full of mushroom investigations since the Fungi Formal was tonight!

Even though it is called "Moose Meadow Park" we didn't see any moose.
The whole week.
Charlie said we are the people that go to the zoo and still don't see "wildlife"
but it was beautiful!

Had to stop by this amazing log cabin that they are building!
Look at those tree pillars in the front!

Stopped by Sitzmark for a beer & a snack,
nothing to write home about,
but the ceiling by a local artist was amazing!

Had to check out the Hotel Alyeska's sushi bar since it is only open from Friday to Sunday,
had to get the Hotel Alyeska's roll with local fish!
pretty good, loved the chunks of fish on top!

Then got a coffee & hung out around a fire outside on this cloudy day

What I Wore: glasses- Jean LaFont, dress- BCBG {$20 score from Marshall's}, cardigan- thrifted, stockings- vintage from mom, boots- thrifted

Love my necklace from the local jade store!

Rocking my bright new North Face =)

Then it was time to go on a fungi adventure!
 Went to the community center to sign up for a mushroom foray {that is next week's Wedding Wed!}
& got to check out the crazy types of mushrooms found in this part of Alaska during this time of the year.
Did you know that in fall it is like a rainforest there?!
That is another reason why a new rain coat was needed.

& then this gem happened.

I think the Fungi Formal was the highlight of our trip!
Great wild mushroom dinner & I sat next to a woman with a homemade mushroom necklace
& her husband had a mushroom tie.
amazing.

& this man had MUSHROOM PANTS.
Trip made.

It was a bonus that we won this print from the silent auction!
Can't wait to find the perfect place for it in our new house!
