former Ms. Frizzle

{source: hero.fandom.com}

When I wore this dino outfit to work, everyone was like
"OMG you are just like Ms. Frizzle",
Now I am Ms. Frizzle if she retired from students and went into fashion.
& I am not mad about it.
#livingmybestlife

What I Wore: glasses- Warby Parker, lips- Covergirl Lip Lava "Glow", earrings + necklace- Julie Vos,  top- Forever 21, jacket- Scoop x Walmart, pants- Old Navy, boots- Faryl Robin via Poshmark

If I was still teaching I would TOTALLY get this pencil bow,

My work bestie Olivia send me this:

& I have been thinking about this A LOT lately.
It is clear that most people slept through the lessons
on infectious diseases, especially viruses...

Disruptive Camouflage for TPRFM @ NCBC Micro Market!

Last Sunday we checked out the

It was very micro, maybe 5 or so booths,
but it was a fun little adventure,
always made better with a good beer!

I only picked up 6 sweet stickers from one of the booths,
there were no vintage clothing stands which is always my favorite to browse.
I also had the Neshaminy Creek Blueberry Gose which was refreshing

Wore some "disruptive camo"

What I Wore: glasses- c/o Bellinger via 10/10 Optics, lips- Soap and Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Mini Lip Gloss Sticks in "Nudist", necklace- Hunt & Orchard {gift from hubby}, tank- Walmart, cardigan-  boutique in Princeton - gift from hubby {in college}, pants- Gap, flats- Marc Jacobs {gift from hubby}, bag- vintage Dooney & Bourke

I always think of disruptive camouflage when I wear zebra print,
it is such an interesting concept in Biology/Ecology:
{source: wikipedia.org}

Besides some super cool stickers at the Micro Mart,
I have picked up other goodies over the last couple of months:
1. Did a little damage at Target recently, I picked up the leopard Who What Wear blazer {I LOVE IT!}, new red velvet pant {I have to get rid of my Altuzurra x Target red velvet pants, wore HERE, they are shading and have lost shape, #rip}, 2 velvet Mossimo tops with ruffle sleeves {These are so cute!}
2. $3 plaid candles from Target, love the scent of these and they are so cute!
3. Finally got the "Never Regular" pouch from Redbubble that I blogged about in August, it was so hard to pick which size but I ended up getting the large one. Also ordered the "Let's raise our glasses" sticker from MadiD on Redbubble that I blogged about a couple of weeks ago
+ got 20% off for Black Friday
4. Kate Spade stud earrings from the Kate Spade Outlet, they were only like $14!
5. When I first saw this star bracelet from Hunt & Orchard on Instagram, I immediately thought about how cute it would be as a necklace, when I commented that idea, she sent me a picture of it made into a necklace! I had to have it, and I love it! Will be so perfect for any outfit this holiday season!
6. LuLaRoe Irma bird tunic from "Leave the Woe" group on Facebook
I have wanted this pattern for a while now and happy to have it for cheaper!
7. I love this watermelon top as seen on twentiesgirlstyle on Instagram
had to pick it up for like $9 from shein.com

This meme from bustle on Instagram is exactly how I feel when I get new clothes:

What have you picked up recently?
Did you shop any Black Friday sales?!

Wanted Wednesday: ScienceJewelry1824 + other science nerd paraphernalia

It is a new school year & even though I am not teaching,
I can't get science off my mind.
I am still loving these science pieces from ScienceJewelry1824,
their Instagram is full of science inspiration!

Also love this bacteriophage:

This pattern can also come in a dress!

The more I discover on Redbubble, the more I am obsessed!
{still want this pouch! It is too perfect}

My sister Audrey tagged me in this and I love it!

Still a science nerd,
even though now I am a fashion nerd too =)

Fuzzy Wuzzy: I would wear this fur cardigan to my "Fibers, Fabrics and Fur" lesson...

I am absolutely obsessed with this piece from RoadSideline Arts,
I am definitely going to need one of these, this is my life motto.

Okay, disclaimer:
I was not aware that it was the "Fibers, Fabrics and Fur" lesson
in my "Intro to the Fashion Business" class...
But it sure looked like I was trying to be a tactile example...

What I Wore: glasses- Faniel via 10/10 Optics, lips- Gerard Cosmetics "1995" and NYX Butter Gloss in "Creme Brûlée", {I am loving this lip combo!} necklace- Bead for Life, top- Primark, cardigan- Kensie {via Costco, was less than $7, I am obsessed!}, jeans- Seven {thrifted}, booties- Minnetonka, bag- vintage Coach {thrifted}

I wanted to share some Science of Style fashion school notes
 from my experience thus far at the Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC!
{See fashion school orientation: Day 1, Day 2, Day 3}

Since orientation, I have been doing SO MUCH READING:

But my fashion school books are so pretty that they could be coffee table books:

& I have  been using my "Whoa, Wait" collection tags as book marks
and they are making me happy!

This book is full of inspiration:

"Fashion is instant language"

If there was ever a doubt that I am in the right place,
look at this model in the textbook,
yup, leopard galore.

We talk a lot about the psychology that drives people to make purchase decisions,
and where people fall on the "fashion adaptation" scale.

Our textbook describes "Fashionistas" as having an armor that gives them self-assurance,
and we discuss the need that humans have an inner struggle
to balance individuality and the need to belong.
Learning about the choices people make to express themselves through their clothing
and the business behind it all is so interesting.

& I seem to have a knack for it 😊

I have been surprised how much science is involved in fashion,
this is the Biodesign Challenge award that is a multi-school contest and was won by students at FIT for a sustainable alternative for mainstream textiles created from a yarn from bacteria and fungi.
The trophy was created by a UK artist Luke Jerram,
and it is a symbolic intersection of art, design and biology.

I love checking out all the exhibits that FIT has on display throughout campus,
I loved this leather exhibit and was so impressed by all the shoes on display,
but I really loved these twisty loafers, I would love to rock those!

Every day in NYC I am excited and inspired,
I loved this Instagram post from emmerteyewear
& it describes how I feel about this experience:

🚉 Time to hit the dusty road back to NJ!

Still obsessed with this mani
base: KL Polish "Caramello" & top coat: Zoya "18K Gold Gilty Pleasures"
Almost the same color as the the yellow on escalators, and "Watch the Gap" paint,
love it.
