Spectacular Sunday :: Lafont Leopard Love Affair

It is no news that I am obsessed with eyewear, 

if you read this blog, you already know.

But if you noticed in My Current Eyewear Collection post,

I really only have two pairs of Rx sunnies: 

a pair of Ray Ban wayfare sunnies that I bought during our trip to Hong Kong in 2009

& a pair of Glasseslit sunnies. 

When I went to vision expo this year and met up with Lafont, 

Kristin said that she thought it was time for some leopard sunnies! 

I picked out the Baronne sunnies and they have been on back order:

I was so excited to receive these babies in the mail! 

& this super cute note!

After they arrived I had to send them away to LensesRx to get prescription lenses put in, 

I ordered lots of lenses for eyeglasses from LensesRx in June

& was a little surprised that the sun lenses were $70, 

while the clear lenses start at like $7.

I was thinking about changing my heart glasses {Style #4420218} from Zenni into sunglasses 

(as I probably should have purchased them originally) 

but for $70 it might be worth getting a whole new pair from Zenni as sunnies... 

maybe in the red polka dot version...

I was so excited when they arrived! 

Although I wish the lenses tint was darker... 

I still find myself squinting in the sun sometimes

I feel like my Lafont leopard glasses got a super-hot big sister:

The combo of my Lafont leopard glasses + sunnies 

are perfect to transition from glasses to sunnies!

& now I have these super cute leopard sunnies to rock!

So as a new pair of sunnies moves into my collection, 

I am sad to report that my floral pair of Glasseslit glasses broke recently.

I went to put them on and noticed that they were crooked on my face and when I went to move one side up they just cracked 😫

I am so sad, I loved these. 

I have had them since 2014 so I guess 4 years of wear for glasses 

that were so inexpensive is not bad... but they will be missed.

I am currently searching for a new floral pair, 

Style #113239 from Zenni seem like they might be a good replacement:

But for now:

+ 1 pair of sunnies

 -1 pair of glasses

Humble Beauty Opinion #57 :: Aug 2018

Last Saturday of the month = my monthly offering of my humblest beauty opinions!  

Let's start with my monthly subscriptions.

This month Ipsy was a pretty good one:

I like the Pixi blush, love the Ouai Volume Spray, haven't tried the Coola BB+ cream yet, 

the bang beauty quad is pretty nice, packaging is a little weird 

so I popped some magnets on the back and put it in my Z- Palettes. 

I was excited to try the Make Up For Ever pencil but my god is this HARD, I hate it. 

These types of pencils hurt! 

Also in this month's Ipsy I redeemed some points 

& got a little CrabTree & Evelyn "Gardeners Ultra-Moisturising Hand Therapy", 

love this stuff and with winter coming, Imma need some moisture!

I am also happy with this month's Sephora Play bag!

I needed a brow gel so I am happy to have the Anastasia Beverly Hills one- this stuff is very strong, I am having issues getting just a little bit on the brows. 

Otherwise my brows are so stiff and I end up looking like 😟

I already know I love the Hoola bronzer and the Living Proof styling cream,

the Make Up Forever lipstick in C211 is so smooth and such a pretty color! 

Still have to try the other products:

Since I have been a subscriber for 6 months, apparently I get a free custom makeover,

I am kinda curious to try this service, has anyone tried it & what did you think?!

I picked up two skin care products from Trader Joe's this month,

Rose Water Facial Toner & Jojoba Oil.

The Rose Water Facial Toner is new to me but I am LOVING it! 

So refreshing and smells wonderful!

I already know I love the Jojoba Oil- I use this after taking my makeup off at night 

and have really enjoyed how it makes my skin feel/look.

I mentioned last month that I picked up the Kathleen Lights x ColourPop The Zodiac Palette,

and OMG. 

It is so good, I am obsessed. 

I have created so many looks with it and find myself using it daily!

& the "Scorpio Moon" lipstick is AMAZING. 

Definitely one of my all time favorite lipsticks, 

I want to get the other color from the collection, Whats Your Sign, ASAP!

Which leads me to my...

With the change of the release date of the Jaclyn Hill x Morphe Vault Collection

I knew the timing wouldn't be right for me to drop $50 on more palettes, 

so I missed the first release.

I would like to pick it up in the rerelease on Tuesday Aug 28th, 

but we will see if I end up pulling the trigger...

from angelabright on Instagram, I would love to try and recreate each one! 

 Jaclyn Hill x Morphe is also releasing a huge brush collection next week,

I am currently satisfied with my brush collection,

 so I don't think I will be picking up any of these, 

but the promo is SO BEAUTIFUL!

I am so excited for EmilyNoel83 & her Makeup Revolution collaboration! 

I think I might be picking up "The Wants" later today at Ulta, 

it looks so pretty and fun!

Ofra Cosmetics x NikkieTutorials, this highlight is called "Space Baby" 

& this looks exactly like the kind of highlight I LOVE!

One of my first and favorite blue duo chrome highlighters was the "Daydream" from LoveLuxeBeauty, it broke on vacation and I was so sad. 

Then it was discontinued / reformulated but has apparently recently been re-released.

"Icing on the cake" also looks amazing! 

May be time to place an order on LoveLuxeBeauty:

They remind me of my butter london Glazen Eye Gloss in "Oil Slick"

I spotted these Odeme polishes in JCrew and I love the shape of these bottles and these colors, 

I wonder if they are any good?!

This month's empties, what I used up, loved, hated 

& all my humble opinions in between:

beauty empties: Maybelline Age Rewind in "Light"- I love and miss this stuff, need a new one ASAP / GlamGlow "Glowstarter" Illuminating Moisturizer- I liked this, with the exception of the extremely sweet smell that seems to linger too long, I ended up adding it to my foundation / Smashbox "Photo Finish Lid Primer" in "Light"- I did not like this stuff, I don't think it worked and I could hardly get any out of the packaging / be a bombshell "french kiss" I like this pink chapstick but the top kept falling off which resulted in it being gross and getting all over everything / Cetaphil "Gentle Skin Cleansing Clothes"- these were okay, not a favorite but a good travel size / Ipsy bag- I LOVED this pattern and bag for carrying all my phone chargers, external batteries, etc. I am so sad that the snap broke apart and it has faded over time, time to let her go... 

bath empties: Scentsy "Sea Salt & Avocado" bar- I like this scent a lot, need to get more! / SW Basics Cream- I have had this FOREVER, this is super moisturizing but can sometimes be a little oily, I found that it was great for healing tattoos! / Trader Joe's Coconut Body Butter- I love this lotion, smells wonderful and super moisturizing! Have re-purchased many times! / beauty360 from CVS "Extra Dry Skin Moisturizing Lotion"- I like this lotion, smells a little sweeter than the other ones I've used but I like it / Scotch "Jumbo Lint Roller"- any dog moms know these are completely necessary, especially with a job that requires you to wear black... these are super sticky and work well / Completely Bare "Completely Smooth" moisturizing No-Bump Shave Gel- I liked this sample and would consider purchasing it / Rich Radiance "Cocoa Butter Cleansing Wipes" not a fan of these or their smell, do not recommend / Watson's "Black Pearl" face mask from Thailand- I liked this one, so far all of these have been awesome! / Watson's "Rice Yeast"- another good one from Thailand! / Revlon Colorsilk "Burgundy" x 2- one of my go-to hair colors! / Summer's Eve "Sheer Floral Cleansing Cloths"- these are a must have! Need to repurchase both the travel ones and the packs / Briogeo "Scalp Revival" conditioner- I liked this, it smells nice and feels tingly wish it was a bigger sample to really get a feel for it
