rainbow road leads full circle...

I loved the Lacoste rainbow windows
📍  Macy's Herald Square

What I Wore: glasses- Faniel Eyewear via 10/10 Optics, earrings- Julie Vos, necklace- Julie Vos "Coin Charm", top- thrifted, pants- Talbots {via Poshmark}, flats- Marc Jacobs {via Sample Sale}

On this day the rainbow road brought me full circle
as I was invited as a guest speaker at my first alma mater Rider University
to teach a "Sustainability in Fashion" class!

Felt good (and a little stressful) to get back in the swing of teaching!
Like riding a bike!

But it was very full circle for me!

"How Wonderfully You Have Grown Since May Of Last Year" - MHN

I absolutely love this post from hellogiggles on Instagram,
{originally from morganharpernichols}

& it is so true.
with a degree is Associate Degree in Fashion Business Management!

I can't believe it has been a whole year since walking across the stage at Radio City Music Hall

Going to FIT was one of the best decisions I have ever made,
still can't believe I really went for it!
& they were recently ranked one of the best fashion schools in the world 2019!

Since graduating I have worked in NYC as a Fashion Copywriter for A Second Chance,
and now as a Fulfillment Coordinator for Wholesale at Julie Vos.

Wow how life has changed from teaching High School Biology in NJ...
& I am loving every minute.

it's for life.

Last weekend, I went back to Rider University
to celebrate the Founders Day of my sorority Alpha Xi Delta!

I haven't been back in years...

was one of my STUDENTS when I taught high school Biology!
WOAH. Full circle?

Honestly I wanted to go back to AXD to see my bestie BA!
It has been WAY too long!

So happy BA came over after to relax and catch up!
It was much needed

cap, gowns, and excellent dumplings

Last week I took the trek into NYC
to pick up my cap & gown from The Fashion Institute of Technology
such a bitter sweet feeling, I can't believe this experience is all over.

What a fast year full of eye opening experiences, amazing classes
and projects that pushed me to be confident in my creative side.

I am excited to graduate tomorrow and for my new career to start,
thankful for everything I've learned this year.

This message on this news stand across from the FIT campus is so, so accurate:

Also thankful that Charlie took this trip with me & that I became friends with Holly last semester.
She has quickly become one of my closest friends
and I am going to miss our Monday lunch dates, now I need a job in the city so we can keep them!

We went out to lunch at Excellent Dumplings House in Chelsea,
and let me tell you, it was excellent!
Especially for the price!
We had the shrimp and crab dumplings and pork soup dumplings which were all really good.
The Beef Chow Fun was also delicious!

We stopped by Milk for some birthday cake ice cream that was delicious!

What I Wore: glasses- Firmoo, lips- Tarte "Birthday Suit", jacket- Hunter x Target, top- vintage, pants- White House Black Market {thrifted}, boots- JCrew, backpack- Hunter x Target

Happy to have this waterproof backpack for all these rainy spring days!

Time to decorate my cap!
Thanks to my assistant for all his "help"

Stick a Pin In It :: My "Pro" Pinterest

📌📌📌📌
In my Fashion Forecasting class we have had a semester long assignment
where we created a "Professional Pinterest" account.
This account was to contain a minimum of 1,300 pins in the following boards:
- 4 different decades / zeitgeist
- beauty
- fashion
- color (broken into subcategories)
- art
- trends
- runway
- nature
- textures & patterns
- street fashion
- mood boards
architecture
- celebrities
- inspiration
- photography

+ any additional we deem necessary {good for specific class projects!}

I wanted to share how my "Professional Pinterest" account came out,
it was nice to kind of start Pinterest over with an aesthetic / fashion goal.

Check it out!

Specific Boards:

SO.MUCH.INSPIRATION.

I am so proud of how this project came along.
{especially my color sub sections!}
It was nice to organize my inspiration and make something visually pleasing.
This Pinterest account became a life saver for this class and all my other classes this semester!

What do you think of "Professional Pinterest" accounts?
Would you do a refresh on your Pinterest account?
Whatchu think of mine?!
💁‍♀️

Feel free to follow my "Personal Pinterest" HERE

obsolescence ends in excess. the fashion cycle of...

In my Fashion Forecasting class we had a "Fashion Cycle Of..." assignment
where we had to identify a fashion from the past and go through its fashion cycle:

I decided go through the fashion cycle of Von Dutch trucker hats.
This assignment was so funny to do and quite a nostalgic throw back:

Say it aint so!
