I have been stalking this plaid movement
since they announced Adam Lippes for Target collection in June
& was even more excited when I saw (and blogged) the lookbook!
Well today is the day!
No line at my store, I walked right in at 8am & I was the only one looking at the merchandise.
Definitely a different experience knowing that I got everything I was sure I wanted
online the night before & not stressing out
Tons of extra bags ready to be stocked...
I ordered pretty much everything I wanted online at 3 am,
after I passed out & work up to my phone in my hand and my computer screen glowing in my face...
I wanted to go to the store to check sizes because you never really know how these collections run,
as a heads up this collection seems to run a size larger
What I bought in store:
I did order this Button Down Crepe Blouse - Blue Painterly Plaid online in a large,
but when I tried it on in a medium it fit much better,
so I bought this in store and will have to return the other one when it arrives
I wanted to see how I liked the Double Layer Shift Dress - Painterly Plaid in person,
and I decided to take it home in a Medium
I also was interested in Waffle Knit Long Sleeve Henley - Grey with Plaid Trim, even though it is a "men's" top, I ordered it online last night in a Medium, but when I tried a small I liked it, so I bought this in store too and will return the other one when it arrives.
I also wasn't sure I would like how the Woven Jogger Pant - Black looked on,
but I loved the side plaid detail, so I picked them up in store in a medium
I also wanted to try on the Mohair Fringe Poncho - Red Plaid in person to see what I thought about it,
I did order it online last night as a spare of the moment purchase.
I liked that it is red plaid, the only clothing piece in this pattern, would have liked to see more.
Not sure about the fit (this is a S/M) / I am not sure I would wear this enough
so I will see what I think once it arrives.
So in summary:
What I bought online @ 3 am:
MIGHT RETURN: Mohair Fringe Poncho - Red Plaid {Sz S/M} & Sherpa Half Zip Pullover - Black {Ordered in a small, was not impressed with this in store though}
What I bought in store:
Button Down Crepe Blouse - Blue Painterly Plaid {sz M + sz S for my sister} / Double Layer Shift Dress - Painterly Plaid {sz M} / Woven Jogger Pant - Black {sz M} / Shell Crepe Tank - Painterly Plaid Black {sz Small for my sister} / Waffle Knit Long Sleeve Henley - Grey with Plaid Trim {sz S}
There was "one that got away" & that was the Hot Beverage Bottle 15 oz - Red & Black Plaid,
it was "in store only" but no stores in NJ seemed to get any stock according to the website,
will be keeping an eye out,
especially since I absolutly love my Tory Burch thermos via Neiman Marcus for Target Collection
Not officially an item of the Adam Lippes for Target,
but I also got this tartan plaid kitchen rug!
Hopefully the bulldog doesn't eat this one...
Had to end the morning with a pumpkin spice latte, especially in this super cute cup!
I cleaned it out when I got home and have decided to use it as a hair tool holder:
Can't wait to put together fall outfits with this collection!
Always fun to shop these collections!
What do you think of the Adam Lippes for Target collection?
Certainly not even close to the insanity that has surrounded previous collections {i.e. Lilly for Target}
