deliver me

I volunteered today at the Rescue Mission of Trenton with a group of my students (and my fiance!) We sorted, tagged, and hung up donated clothing items. The money made from everything they sell in their thrift store goes to run various other programs in the community.

& I got to do a little shopping at my favorite store of course
I got a:
pink blazer {I have been searching everywhere for one!}
red polka dot button up
tan sweater
& these
Love at first sight, I have wanted vintage loafers for awhile now & they have been Wish/Shopping List.

Best part- they gave all this to me for free, God I love that place.

And when I came home there were two packages on my door step!
1st one was:
Love the "Koi" sticker on the packaging =) so cute!

Thanks Meanz =)
I love them!
2nd one was:

My pencil-me-in Jeffery Campbell flats from ModCloth

Super cute pins from Modcloth, look at that little pug!
I am making these into magnets for the fridge
Guess what else?!?!
My fiance got me a new beta fish!!
I had one named Fanny, but she died tragically last weekend =(

So say hello to Big Rhonda!
Charlie said he picked her because of her big eyes.
I said, "is that what we are going to look for in all of our pets" considering that this:
is our puppy

Welcome home Big Rhonda =)

& welcome home 3 new amazingly awesome pairs of shoes!

& today the fiance ordered me the "Male Protagonists" set of Penguin Classics from Open Sky for $38
& I ordered the "Female Protagonists" set of Penguin Classics for $18!
Great deal. Awesome books.
Will be perfect on our bookshelf now & for always =)

I also ordered:
this incredible pug pillow from nicola via Etsy!
I asked her in passing "If you make a pug version of this pillow, I will totally be on that." Well she did. & I am on it like white on rice. {if that is the right expression, if not, whatever you get the gist.}

Today can also be named- "best shopping day ever."

Okay, I had to. I have been stalking these Pencil-me-in-flat made by Jeffery Campbell for no lie 3+ years. {blogged about them in the we don't need no education... why yes, yes we do post}

we don't need no education... why yes, yes we do.

This is a post about my teaching experiences by request from H. Rija as previously promised here.

Which is pretty interesting timing considering I am applying to graduate school and interviewing for a Graduate Assistantship at my alma mater  Rider University in Lawrenceville, NJ.

My undergraduate degree is is Biology and my long term employment goal is to be a secondary education {high school level} teacher in Biology.

Currently, I am a substitute teacher in NJ. I sub anything from pre-k to high school & let me tell you-- there is never a dull moment. I have dealt with a hundred different scenarios & that is what I like the most about being a sub- I am someone different every day {different challenges, different students, different classes} . It allows me to step into other teachers shoes and have a wide variety of experiences. The down side is that they are not "my" classrooms and I don't get to follow through on any assignments and discipline issues.

I am also a Home Instructor / Tutor for a variety of science classes. {I tutored throughout my undergraduate career, which makes this easier for me} This is certainly challenging, but definitely rewarding.

My advice-- get involved, work with different people, see what you enjoy teaching & teaching it will be easy (and fun) for a life long career. Try substitute teaching (only need 30 college credits to in NJ) see if being "in the field" is something you truly enjoy.

As far as "in the field" it is important to always stay {just LOOK!} calm even in the weirdest situations. Learn all you can from the people around you- other teachers, interactions with various students- you can learn SO MUCH from everyone around you in life and in a career.

Hope this helps H. Rija! Let me know if you have any other questions!
