"What's in my teaching bag?" & other teaching rambles

I have always wanted to do a "What's in my bag" post,
I think the back to school time is the perfect time to show you what's in my teaching bag!

My teaching bag is Hello Kitty with leopard glasses because duh.
I love this bag, perfectly spacey and I love the outside pocket.
I keep pens, pencil sharpener, and my ID card and my cell phone in that pocket.
I also keep a mint container with cough drops & headphones in a Vera Bradley elephant pouch
In my little leopard pouch {got from a student when I was a sub} I keep my limited makeup with me which includes a canceler, a powder, an eye glass cleaner cloth, and a couple of chap sticks.

Also in my teaching bag for back to school, I have my car keys {yes that is Mace- I can thank my sister Bianca for that Christmas present}, a teacher book "A Tribute to Teachers" by Richard Lederer {great stories with some good puns and humor}, a frame of me and the hubby for my desk, & a lint roller {a must have for a pug mommy}

My computer case is Coach and was a gift from my sister-in-law, I love it because it has two pockets in the inside that I can keep the cords separated from the computer.
I am so excited for my new lunch box and thermos that is Tory Burch from the Neiman Marcus x Target Holiday Collection from a couple of years ago.
Yes- I bought this when it came out but I went to wash my very used lunch box & the washer machine ate the lid off.
I was devastated, my thermos died during the NJ Biology State exam last year when it flew off a table =(
but the hubby hopped on Ebay and got me a new set!
New school = new set!
So happy!

Also love my Hello Kitty with glasses pouch, see below for details of what is in there!

I also keep my red faux snakeskin planner from Staples- I have had this for years & I love it!
I use my Kate Spade Emma notebook for blog ideas and planning, I also have a calendar that I use to plan out what I want to blog about!

In my Hello Kitty glasses pouch {from Old Navy I think} I have:
tampons! Yay., bandaids, a pen and pencil, some wet naps, a comb, mirror, a sowing kit, a dry erase marker, two sharpies, a highlighter, white out, glue stick, Carmex, a giraffe pouch that holds dental floss, a little container for some advil {from my post bachelorette party planned by my Maid of Honor Bianca},  hair ties, and an eye glass cleaner kit!

So that is what is in my teaching bag for the start of school!

What do you have in your back to school bag?
Tweet me @emmasglasses with pictures- I would love to see!

For the past week I have been attending a new teacher orientation in my new school district
Lawrence Township in NJ.
It has been an incredible week of preparation & excitement!
One of the absolute highlights of the week was a SOLE workshop
using technology in the classroom so students research questions all on their own
& present their findings!
{see Sugata Mitra's TED talk behind it all HERE}
{see Lawrence's amazing connection to SOLE: Part 1 / Part 2 / Part 3}

We actually SKYPED with Sugata Mirta!
Yes, the TED 1 million dollar winner!
AWESOME!
Not going to lie, this presentation was eye opening to all the possibilities in my new school!
I am excited to get started!
Consider me inspired!
