I am taking a break from looking at the crazy ruins of the Jersey Shore.
It is truly depressing to see my childhood memories destroyed to pieces.
It is just amazing the amount of destruction.

I woke up and got ready like normal today, skull top and all for halloween, but school was cancelled. The website is not updated and the phone lines are down.
It feels like the end of the world over here.

I have been out of work since last Thursday & I have off tomorrow already.
Thats right a 7 day weekend, honestly I want to go back to work.
I miss getting dressed.

Until then, here are some recent purchases I have made:

justified by the fact that my black nail polish died a few days ago & that I have been meaning to get a white anyway. The gold is a fab bonus =)

My birthday present from the fiancé finally arrived.

It was one of those mornings.

#1- last Thursday we had a Tuskegee Airmen Workshop which was a meet and greet with World War II veterans and listen to their stories {was amazing. one of the coolest events of my job so far!}, 
#2- In student teaching I am frequently fighting with this machine & killing trees
#3- Sister came to visit this weekend and we made my favorite Sunday breakfast {Crepes!}

& I should stop looking at my emails because they make me want to spend all my money, here are some of my current crushes:

 P.S. my sorority {AXiD} won the pattern contest so I will be getting one of those amazing custom bags!

#3: Finally! TOMS Ballet Flats! I was super excited about them {especially the top pair} until I realized they are $80. 

But I have had my eye on these after a sweet recommendation from one of my friends on facebook:

The day I posted these on my Wish/Shopping List... they came on  Open Sky for $149 but I could use some of my credits, got it for a tiny bit cheaper, it was fate. 

Even the fiance said, "Those are the nicest boots you own" = justification in my purchase.

Of course Barry wouldn't let me take a picture of my new deliveries...

I will admit that I purchased this skirt last year during a thrifting adventure in Denver, CO when we went for Charlie's work conference... and this is the first time I am wearing it...


I originally thought I would hem it into a pencil length skirt, but then figured, lets break out of our mold for once. So I kept it long.

What I Wore: glasses- Warby Parker Sinclair in Midnight Blue, hot pink blazer- thrifted Rescue Mission in Trenton, pink ruffle top- GAP, black & silver belt- Alloy.com, black & white maxi skirt- ARC Thrift store in Denver, CO, black studded flats- Forever 21.

relapse of a shopping addiction: five faves for friday

I have always been the first to admit when I have an addiction. I have tried to budget, but the past two weeks have been a MAJOR relapse & thus creates my five faves for friday {all new stuff!}


#1: Hello Kitty Watch via Hautelook {only $25!} I am obsessed- my new favorite thing!

Looks great with my [Alex and Ani] feather bracelet from the fiance for my birthday!

#2. Steve Madden satchel via Ross {$40}

I have been searching for the perfect satchel {after admiring many mulberry and balenciaga bags} for the fall & I have definitely found it {at an amazing price too!}. I get so many compliments on this bag, it is the perfect color block for changing seasons love =)

#3. My first Shoedazzle purchase:

These babies are named Ciji. I have been looking for shoes like this for a while now & was pumped to get them at a good price too {$30} My only problem is that they were scuffed when I took them out of the box =( & the toe box is a little small. I am keeping them because I love them despite their imperfections but I think that is my first and last Shoedazzle purchase...

#4. Finally bought me a lip stick!

After looking and looking but never making a commitment, I finally got a lipstick. Clinique 18 Ginger Flower, which was suggested to me by the lady at the counter. She first asked me if I was a subtle or bright color girl {I was wearing this candy stripped blazer mind you} So we both decided bright and picked one! <3 it!

#5. Book case of my dreams:

Spotted this baby at homegoods and took this picture to go home and beg the fiance to let me get it!
Yes indeed this is not a steal at $300, but it is the bookcase of my dreams!

Still working on putting things on the shelves...  

This peacock {there is actually a set but the other one is in a different part of my apartment} was a gift {or should I say reward} for working an estate sale last weekend for a family friend- semi-inspired by the glamourai's amazing bronze deer. I love it- goes amazing with:
