When Brittany from Invasion of Personal Space contacted me to link up with her "What I'm For" series,
I totally agreed that the world needs more positivity
and what a perfect time to share what I am for on Thanksgiving!
1. My family: I think this is an obvious one for a lot of people, but my connections to my family have strengthened immensely over the last couple of years. I am so thankful that my relationships with
my sisters continue to be the strongest relationships in my life. I am so proud of the women my sisters have become and I am so lucky to be their oldest sister. I live to be there for them when they need me. My parents are amazing people that have supported me my entire life and continue to on a daily basis. My hubby: I am so lucky to have found someone who plugs into my family and just fits in so well. We compliment each other so well and I am excited to build our own branch of the family tree together one day (in the next two years, don't get your hopes up. Although my Zia said this would be our child, one can only hope!). My fur family: My three animals make me so happy, they are always there to make me smile and cuddle when I need it. I love them.
2. My friends: In real life & in blog life. It has been hard post-college to keep in touch with friends, and I miss mine deeply (Dara + Luke in the midwest, Joe in South Korea, Courtney with your baby & one on the way, & BA - I'm thinking of you!) My big sister from my sorority Alpha Xi Delta, Amanda, is my bestie and I love that we still live close to each other and can rely on each other. I am also for my blog friends, especially my Texas Style Council ladies:
I am constantly inspired by these ladies and am happy to support them in anyway possible. Especially since Hilary from The Cutie Life invited us into her home in Talcoma, WA and showed us around the upper West Coast! These relationships are awesome and I am looking forward building them! Maybe at Thrive Blog Conference ?! Not sure though {see #4}.
3. Support for this blog & my shops: I am for this blog. Obviously. It takes a lot of time and dedication to write a blog, but it has been one of my favorite aspects of my life for the last 5 years. Thank you for reading, commenting, liking on social media, etc. I launched my online store in May 2014 and it has been so much fun to curate, shoot, ship orders and send vintage and preloved clothing to people all over the world! I have sold well over 100 pieces, and counting! {Look for a big sale tomorrow too!} I even got to sell in person at The Trenton Punk Rock Flea Market, would love to open a brick and mortar boutique. This has been an exciting creative outlet that continues to grow!
4. The uncertainty of this point in my life: now this is kinda a tough one for me. The three things above are stable but as far as careers go, I am in a strange grey area. I am trying to embrace the uncertainty, keep plugging away and know that there is something better for me out there.
Thank you Brittany from Invasion of Personal Space for the inspiration!
