AP Beer Fest

A couple of weeks ago, we ventured to Asbury Park, NJ to finally experience the Beer Fest,

the same Beer Fest that we were locked out of last year because we didn't get tickets in advance

Needless to say we had been planning for this to be an awesome showcase of local breweries,

not really the case. 

Our first hurdle was the whole "21 to enter"

We were under the impression {because not clearly explained on the website} 

that a designated driver was allowed to enter but obviously not drink, not that they also needed to be 21

so my sister was shut out at the last minute,

AFTER standing outside for 30+ minutes in 20 degree weather in 6 inches of snow that was not plowed.

Needless to say, I did not wear sensible footwear {not that I ever do.}

& I was not happy.

We had to make the best of really long lines, for every brewery

including one bathroom for 400+ people. 

It was disappointing that there were a lot of mainstream breweries and not a lot of local ones,

{even though Kane won first place!}

But the beers that Sam Adams brought out for the beer fest was one of the highlights,
although Bianca didn't like the cherry beer… look at that face!

I couldn't help but take a selfie with this group of people dressed as beer bottles...

among others!

 What I Wore: glasses- Jean LaFont, blouse {under}- thrifted, sweater- 3.1 Phillip Lim For Target, leather pants- LC Lauren Conrad for Khols, flats- Target, bag- Rebecca Minkoff, lips- MAC "Candy Yum Yum" 

One of the coolest moments that has ever happened occurred at the Beer Fest
that made everything worth it!

I was standing on line, waiting for a drink and to order some food & someone walks by me and says, 

"This is going to sound so creepy, but I read you blog"

& I DIED. 

My husband was like, "WHAT?!"

It was my first time being recognized and it was exciting to actually meet someone who reads what I write on this little old blog.
