January Humble Beauty Opinion! #62

Last Saturday of the month = #HumbleBeautyOpinion!
My monthly subscriptions, reviews, wish lists, and empties!
New Year, same HBO!

After Christmas I decided to finally get the beautyblender defender on Ulta,
I was a little nervous because the reviews are mixed on this,
I was surprised at how large it is... really fits like 2 beauty blenders,
but I think it is okay, good design
but I do wish it was smaller to be more travel friendly.
{FYI the makeup sponges I use/like: original beautyblender, Real Techniques, and Morphe}

Last month I was complaining in my Humble Beauty Post that my Ipsy bag never arrived...
So I contacted them and they sent me a new one and then the first week of January,
TWO December bags arrived.
Wut?

So confused but at least I got the two items I really wanted last month:
Nomad Cosmetics "Around-The-World Light Infusion Holographic Illuminator
 in Ko Phablets Ngan Moonlight"
& INMO "Frozen Lipstick in Runway Red"
& now have a back up which is good because I LOVE THIS LIPSTICK!

& then this month's January Ipsy bag arrived:
it is okay, I love the Fluide gloss, and the OUAI leave in conditioner,
the polish is pretty nice and I have worn it a few times,
I have yet to try the foundation but am excited to!

This month's Sephora Play was a pretty good one too, I like the Sunday Riley treatment and the belif sleeping mask, could always use a beauty blender cleaner and have yet to use the other products, the Bite Beauty lipstick is a duplicate from last year's birthday gift which is lame but I passed it on to my sister, it is a great color.

Only a little monthly makeup wishlist this month,
I have been trying to use what I already own and not be sucked into to more makeup.

Their eyeshadow are some of my favorite!

I also love this duo chrome polish that Sally_hansen showed off in a sponsored Instagram post

Trendmood1 on Instagram shared Colourpop's "She's A Mystery" bags
and I love the leopard packaging!
This is such a good way to try a variety of products!
I think it is sold out but I will be on the lookout for the next!

This month's empties-
what I used up, loved, hated  & all my humble opinions in between:
bath: Attitude Shampoo- I was not a huge fan of this, it didn't lather a lot and left my hair a little dry like hay | Dr. Bronner's "Pure Castile Bar Soap" x 2- love this soap! | boscia "Exfoliating Peel Gel"- I am not a huge fan of these types of products because I can never tell if they are actually working or if the product itself is just balling up... | up & up- eye makeup remover- I need a new one STAT! This is a good basic eye makeup remover and with the accidental water proof mascara purchase, it has become a necessity | P.F. Candle Co- I got these on Amazon after seeing them recommended by Carli Bybel on Youtube, they are really nice and I think we may have almost used up both packs already! | Revlon Colorsilk hair dye in "Intense Red"- a favorite! I have been using this color for a couple of months now | equate "Cotton Swabs"- basic and useful | equate "Flushable Cleansing Cloths"- I was not a fan of these something about the texture that was too abrasive | SNP Rabbit face mask- got this as a gift and it was a particularly creepy one... see below

These animal masks are always a little creepy,
but this bunny mouth one is quite strange...

beauty: TIGI Glow Blush in "Haute"- this was a favorite blush! Sad that is is done, will have to repurchase | Luna by Luna- Translucent powder- a nice basic powder not sure how I feel about a baked powder I think I prefer loose | Smashbox "Photo Finish"- a nice primer, I enjoyed this but I think I prefer the benefit "Porefessional" | Elf foundation- I thought this was the old BB Cream that I used to love from them but it was thicker and I did not enjoy this as much | Context Vitamin C All Day Eye Cream- this was a nice eye cream and lasted FOREVER! | Lancer "The Method Nourish"- I liked this cream although there was something about the scent that wasn't my favorite but I LOVED the polish step in this line (got it from Influenster to try out) | Maybelline Age Rewind in "Brightner"- this is a must in my makeup routine! Immediately had to repurchase! Touch In Sol "Metallist Liquid Foil & Glitter"- I tried this out this week and it was terrible, so sheer, tacky and not cute. Do not recommend. | Loreal "Voluminous Lash Paradise"- I loved this mascara. I bought it in Penn Station before work one day because I forgot to put on mascara. I had a full teal blue smokey eye with no mascara... it was a life saver and became a favorite. The hype is real with this one. Although I wish I did not get the waterproof one because it was a pain to take off.

Scents: Rustic Lakehouse from Walmart- I love this scent and these are so cheap | Mainstays "Pumpkin Spice"- a little too sweet but was nice | Better Homes & Gardens "Farm Apple Pumpkin" scented wax cubes- Charlie did not like these, they were very sweet

What were you loving in beauty this month?
Any products I should try??

Have you tried the super hyped Loreal "Voluminous Lash Paradise"?
What did you think about it?!

Cool Girl NYC

{source: 260SampleSale.com

So rare that I get a subway ride alone & a little creepy:

This is my usual commute:

Seriously though.

NYC has so much inspiration,
there is one girl in particular that I have been style stalking recently...
More specifically I spotted this girl getting on the train at Penn Station
and became obsessed with her outfit.
It was Cool Girl NYC perfection.

When I was in middle/high school/for as long as I can remember
I have been obsessed with street style and wanted to know where people got the things they wear.
I used to dream of hosting a show where I would ask people on the street
and play a game offering money to buy the items off them...
weird to admit but it is strangely true.

Maybe that is why I fell so hard for blogging/street style/Instagram...

Anyways... Let me paint the perfection picture of this girl's outfit:
Leather paneled cardigan | Dark jeans with pearls down the side seam
Goyard yellow tote | Gucci pearl booties | Hermes scarf

I had to take notes..

So I had to attempt to be Cool Girl NYC too!

What I Wore: glasses- c/o Faniel via 10/10 Optics, lips- NudeStix "Purity" via Sephora Play, sweater- vintage, leather cardigan- Forever 21 {second hand}, sweater- Who What Wear @ Target, pants- c/o TOBI, loafers- Gucci via A Second Chance

My sister Audrey was in the city and I got to take her out to lunch!
I have been wanting to try Sabor A Mexico II since I walked by it a few months ago!

It is so cute!

A beer is a must for a long week at work:

I love this "A New York Palette" from jessica_data on Instagram
it is so accurate!

I've come a long way from that middle school girl obsessed with personal fashion,
but not that far that I am still not obsessed with street fashion.

Maybe I am also a cool girl?!
