makin' pottery & singin' some songs

Cantina di Sorbara Emma Lambrusco is my preferred beverage this summer,
I mean it is named after me after all

& perfectly matches my outfit!

Think this outfit may be one of my faves so far this year!

What I Wore: glasses- Faniel Eyewear c/o 10/10 Optics, earrings- Julie Vos, necklace- Bracha {gift from my hubby}, top- second hand, skirt- Striped Olive, loafers- vintage, bag- Vince Camuto "Orla Tote" from DSW

Headed to Brooklyn to celebrate my work bestie Olivia's birthday!
But first a detour through Jersey City because Apple Maps is the worst.

We headed to Brooklyn Clay Industries for a pottery class!

Making pottery with a view!

My first time making pottery on a wheel,
I was very proud of my piece!

Charlie's piece was so good too,
love the spoon rest!

The results:
{obvs time has passed, shout out to Olivia for picking up our pottery babies!}

I love them together on our book shelf in the office:

Back to Olivia's birthday celebrations,
we finished the night at Sing Sing on Ave A

I do think Sing Sing needs to update their music selection
since it has not changed since we were there for my birthday in 2019!

Felt nice to be normal again, if even just for one night.
Even if it was too peopley

Bathroom Glow Up :: Our Quarantine Project

I am so excited to share our quarantine project!
The downstairs bathroom is one of the last rooms in our house
that we have not really touched since we moved in over 7 years ago...
or since our Home Tour

During quarantine we decided to take it on!
& I love how it came out!

Our first step was to get the tub and tile reglazed,
we used Philly Reglaze and it looks brand new!
My father in law helped with the electricity to move the lights
to be able to have sconces and not that really harsh overhead lighting.

Some of my favorite details:

My hubby did a great job with the molding, painting and all the handiwork!
I also love this print from @analogstreets!
I fell in love with it at "The Road" gallery

I love how the wallpaper wraps up the ceiling!

I think of my favorite parts is the painted floors and painted radiator!

A few details that we bought to complete our bathroom makeover:
3. amazon | 4. wayfair | 5. amazon
6. wayfair | 7. kohls

Speaking of those freakin' flamingos... they were a nightmare!
The issue is that when you put it on and smooth it on it stretches out
so that the damn birds don't match up

This was us when all our bathroom goodies came in:

Affordable upgrades and I love our new bathroom!

2020's motto: "Just Add Bleach"

Happy Monday....

This is my Monday Mood:

At least I can now find parking and get a seat on the train...

7th Ave these days,
#WearAMaskNY & #BlackLivesMatter

I think the motto for 2020 is "Just Add Bleach",
to sanitize surfaces
& an easy way to tie dye clothes to make them new again:

What I Wore: glasses- Zenni Optical, earrings- Julie Vos, top- old but bleach dyed!, jeans- Target, sandals- Target

Another Tik Tok for your viewing pleasure and to ease my boredom:

Quarantine Queen

I may make it through quarantine without buying a tie-dye sweatsuit,
but I did not make it through without bleach tie-dying a sweatshirt...
I mean all the cool kids are doing it,
my inspo was from my friend @kel_deee 🔛 Instagram

My steps of this DIY:
1. Buy sweatshirt on Amazon- this is the one I got & it is so soft!
I am a medium for reference.
2. THE STEP I SHOULD HAVE DONE: wash the sweatshirt first and do not dry
I just soaked the sweatshirt first but I think it would work better if it was washed
and the fabric was loosened up.
3. I wanted the bottom of the sweatshirt and sleeves to be more of a dip dye,
so I soaked the bottoms in the sink with some bleach
4. Then I brought the sweatshirt to the tub and pinched the center and spun the sweatshirt (like you would tie-dye) and used rubber bands/twine to tie up the sweatshirt.
I also rolled the sleeves separate from the body of the sweatshirt
5. I picked alternating sections of the sweatshirt to pour bleach over.
6. I flipped it over and did the same to the other side.
7. Let it sit for 10-15 mins
8. Untie and rinse in the shower
9. Wash like normal in the washer machine & dry
10. Rock your new sweatshirt!

I especially love how the back came out:
What I Wore: glasses- c/o Lafont, lips- bellapierre cosmetics "incognito" via Ipsy, earrings-  Julie Vos "Soho Hoops Mixed Metal Medium", sweatshirt- DIY {via Amazon}, leggings- Spanx, loafers- via Ebay, bag- Coach {thrifted}, bag strap- vintage from my hubby

+ a face mask that is v. on brand:

Shout out to my friend Renee for this leopard mask,
if we have to wear them, might as well make it leopard

At least I am quarantined with someone who likes to cook
& is really good at it.
We have started a new tradition during quarantine with "Sunday Whole Fish"

I finally got my hands on the "Cannoli Bit" ice cream
from the bent spoon in Princeton

Best purchase of quarantine.
This ice cream is SO GOOD.
Zesty, rich and chocolate bits!

Some whole fish + the bent spoon making this Memorial Day a great one!
