Class of 2022 Ornaments

Here are the ornaments that joined the family this year!

1st up a new tree topper via White Lotus Tavern on Etsy:

My in-laws got this for us and I died laughing at the picture they choose, 

such a round little face.

Makes me laugh every time I see it

I saw them at the Trenton Punk Rock Flea Market and am so happy she had one left!

A little mushroom from my birthday trip to the Kennett Square Mushroom Festival:

I love our Baby's 1st Christmas ornament from the mall 

that we picked up after our meeting with Santa!

Continuing our holiday tradition we popped a bottle of champagne while decorating 

& added the cage to the top of our tree!

We finally did some holiday decorating, 

always slow to take down Halloween

because well, I like Halloween decor more... 

sue me...

We've got lots of stockings this year!

We kept up Maggie's because I just can't part with it

This is my favorite part of the mantel this year, 

but to be honest, the whole thing needs some love, 

haven't found any goodies at the thrift to add this year

I cannot believe Christmas is NEXT WEEKEND.

I am wildly unprepared but it is what it is...

Gift, Get & Be Merry

Since all my presents have been given by the time I write this post, 

it is time for a holiday recap!

Took Arnold out in the snow for the first time!

He did not enjoy.

Not pictured is when his little arms sank in and he looked at me like "WTF"

Also did not enjoy this little Christmas sweater...

Lots of presents under the tree this year!

& Jack survived from Halloween to be the nightmare before Christmas indeed

I got my sisters, parents, sister-in-law and in-laws these little custom ornaments

& got my sister Audrey the "Beware of Sharks" Kate Spade tote!

I tried to be good about my Christmas shopping this year

So when my coworker Enid wore this amazing Target sweater to our Ugly Christmas Party

 I knew I needed to get one!

I mean it is AMAZING!

Here are a few of the gifts I got this year, I must have been good!

Aside from the giving and getting I love the 7 Fishes dinner,

love some pasta & clams!

How cute are these loaf slippers my sister got my dad?!

Christmas looked a little (a lot) different this year,

it was the first Christmas of my entire life that we spent in NJ.

It was nice to relax but I definitely missed my extended family.

Hopefully this year will bring everyone back together.

Holiday Pop Up (Throwback!)

To kick off the holiday season we went to the Miracle Pop Up at Catherine Lombardi

 in New Brunswick:

could do without the creepy moving Santa though...

This Santa on the toilet was a different story

A great excuse to break out yet another Christmas sweater that I own...

What I Wore: glasses- c/o Zenni Optical, lips- Be A Bombshell "Hot Damn", earrings- Julie Vos, top- thrifted, jeans- Loft, booties- DSW (I think... they are old now), bag- vintage Gucci {gift from my Zia}, coat {worn above}- vintage Llbean

ho-ho-holiday decor!

 

I made a huge compromise this year and we got a fake Christmas tree, 

Charlie has wanted this from the beginning,

 let's face it- he does all the work for maintaining the tree and all I do is enjoy it.

The downside to a fake tree is the weird bottom that is a dead giveaway that it is fake, 

initially I added a box around the bottom but but was not completely satisfied

When we went to bed, I had an idea to use an old dog cone to create the base of the tree!

It's not perfect but it will do!

I will say that having a tree that comes with lights is a huge benefit!

Still put some lights on the banister

More time to decorate the rest of the house!

I really love our fireplace mantle this year!

Added another little house from the Goodwill! 

 There won't be any presents under our tree this year, 

instead we agreed to get a new carpet for the dining room!

We went this this Safavieh beauty from Overstock.com,

We ordered it on Black Friday and it arrived by SUNDAY! 

WHAT?! AMAZING!

Arnold is a fan!

I meant to take a before photo but I was so excited to get the new carpet 

that I just started cleaning and putting it down...

but I do have this pic of Maggie on the carpet that gives you an idea:

In other holiday celebrations, 

I have been loving my advent calendar from Trader Joe's!

This one is so cute- "While the elves are away, the toys will play!"
