At the end of last year I had to sell my dream car, 

I have only ever driven a VW beetle, 

My first one was yellow, my second was gray and my 3rd was this red hot beauty.

This is the car I had a poster of in my room when I was a preteen.

It was my dream car and I am lucky enough to have driven her everyday for the last 8+ years.

After a routine (125K mile 😬) oil change,

it became apparent that she was dying.

Betsey the Beetle, as she became known at the end of her life,

made the decision for me that it was time to move on.

I have had this car longer than I've been married, or owned my house.

So.Many.Memories.

Like the first year of teaching when my students covered my car in post-it notes...

It was time to trade her in...

A 2022 Kia Seltos in "Neptune Blue"

Ideally we would have gotten our new car in "Starbright Yellow" 

but there are none to be found,

buying a car right now is quite an undertaking 

due to lack of inventory and supply chain issues.

Kinda messed up since that is the one in all their advertising 

and this "welcome" email...

But the dogs seem to love the extra space!

As SOON as they reissue the Volkswagen Beetle 

{they discontinued them in 2019}

I will be getting another one.

It is not good bye,

it is a see you later
